Final piece Still Life

The arrangement of the  objects makes the still life good as there is no orphaned objects, kissing objects or any centralized objects which allows for a better more pleasing composition because the eye will be able to follow the line of the objects without being confused. The focal point of the drawing is the basket as this is the object that the eye is instantly drawn to because of the size and the shading of the object. If you follow the line of the focal point you will find the other two objects that are the areas of interest these are here to keep the eye from losing interest in the still life and so the eye can follow the entire drawing. The shape of the objects contour were drawn with Convex's and Concaves  on the wooden basket this gives makes the basket look more interesting especially on the rim of the basket. The form of all the objects was given by the shadows that were given off from the light. There are signs of different shading techniques. The one in particular cross hatching for the fabric on the table which would have been done so that there would look like it had a fabric texture.

The cast shadows are mainly found underneath the wooden pencil case and the behind the wooden basket. As the one underneath the pencil case is so small the shadow that is cast, the tone or the value of the shading does not change. However the cast shadow of the basket gets lighter nearer to the shadow of the handle. The form shadows on the basket looks to have a few bits where it rises so near the rim it is darker as it goes in but the is very light in the middle because of the light, lower down there are similar bits like that to show the form through shading. The objects overlap in the drawing making the three levels of detail. The basket is in the foreground and the pencil case is in the mid ground and the hexagon box is in the background. This adds a level of depth to the drawing as the objects are obviously behind each other. The objects in the drawing are in proportion as the objects are behind the basket so the other two objects will be smaller.
